Isn’t life just wonderful when you discover something new – especially new music. I had not heard too much about these guys until last Thursday when, after reading a review of their latest album (Brothers) on Amazon I decided to visit their MySpace page. “Mmm this is good” me thinks…
…so I post a video of ‘Tighten Up’ on here for all to enjoy. I then find out one of my pups has two of their albums on his laptop – I listen to these and start to wonder why the hell I haven’t listened to these before. I then visit my local Virgin and buy the remaining albums and so begins a new musical journey – The Black Keys – simply amazing. So amazing that I want to share this delightful discovery with you – listen to the playlist then go and buy the albums. Especially recommend Brothers and Chulahoma.
The Black Keys Go Buy All Their Albums Right Now Playlist [a 79 mb zip file] will be available for one month from today – until midnight on 26 June 2010. Have a listen then come back and share your thoughts in the comment box.
Laughing Dog

Have only listened to a few tracks so far, first few chords reminded me of Bowling for Soup of all things (!) but I suspect you’ve another convert here, cheers!
Thanks Deputy Dawg – even though you have the Sheriff is on your back you still come up with the goods.
I have Attack & Release their last CD and will certainly be buying Brother and Chulahoma. plus the others as soon as possible as they sound so good on your mix.
Everything I read about these guys mentions White Stripes but I reckon their better, certainly more rockier and bluesy and they have someone who can actually play the drums (sorry Meg)
Hey Deputy Dawg Jock is right this playlist is just awesome – note to Web Sheriff and The National I am now going to buy all the Black Keys albums plus I hear that the guitarist Dan Auerbach has a solo album http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/reviews/g2xm which looks good too
Hi Strappy – thanks for your support – in fact thanks to everybody for their support (it means a lot to an old dawg like me)
So you’re saying Meg can’t play the drums – I kind of agree
