May 10 Song of the Month – Philip Sayce ‘Alchemy’

Alchemy, derived from the Arabic word al-kimia, is both a philosophy and an ancient practice focused on the attempt to change base metals into gold – this song then aptly describes Philip Sayce as he really has the talent to turn metal into gold – pure gold.

We’ve talked here about our Top 5 Guitarists and how they were mostly all old school as there are not many new guys or gals that impressed us. Well I think this guy might just change that.

I know its early days, only 3 albums, but what a guitarist. I’ve played both his albums (Peace Machine and Innerevolution) for most of April and have been totally blown away. This guy has it all, powerful voice, technique, great songs, with the look of Pop Idol (we should really hate him) and this song surely demonstrates that we have struck gold in our quest for a new guitar hero.
