Lovely piece of music thank you Laughing Dog. The cello must be my favourite string instrument and when it is played well, as it is here, it can convey such emotion and passion.

I will be purchasing this album today

Hi Ken – thanks for comments. I don’t have too many classical or cello albums but Jacqueline du PrĂ© always does something to me with “Maria Theresia von Paradis 1759-1824 / Sicilienne (arr. Dushkin)” the first track from her Cello Recital album – will post the song later

I do like a bit of classical every now and then, but I don’t really know that much about present day artists, preferring instead to stick to the older ones I do know.

I sorta liked this track, but found it a bit morose. Before I could state whether or not it does it for me I would have to hear a bit more of the album. At the price Amazon are asking for it that may be quite a while.

As for the cello…… I didn’t even know what it was until the first time I seen Anekdoten playing. I concede that it wasn’t used the way that Julie Kent uses it, but wow it sounded amazing anyway!!!
