Hi Strappy, good to see another Jock joining the ranks.

So, this CD finally arrived at the weekend and I've had a chance to listen to it a couple of times. Impressions? Really good - similar to Music for Native Americans, but maybe missing just a little spark somewhere in comparison. Maybe it's just because I have such good memories of the first one I got.

I don't know how, but I never realised that Somewhere Down The Crazy River was on it - awesome track!

Of course there's now nothing else for it, just have to get Contact from the Underworld of Redboy now.

Yeah, I've had a ganders and the mixes mostly seem good so far. A few curious choices though.

I listen to all sorts usually, though recently my interests have been wandering towards rock/pop from 60's.

Hi Strappy (great name) and welcome to Musicforthemonth.com

Thanks for your feedback - if you like the sample, any or all of his albums are worth exploring.

Have you had a chance to download any music mixes yet? Let me know what you think - also what your taste's in music are?

Who's to say which album is best - all I know is that the 3 albums I have by Robbie (Storyville included) are all excellent and deserve a bigger audience.

What out for next song I post!!

Many, many, many years ago I went to visit my brother in the south of England. He is also a music nut, mainly Blues and folk. While I was there he played this amazing LP to me and wouldn't tell me what it was. He taped it for me (anyone remember old C90's?) and told me to go and find out what it was.
It took me 3 years, but I finally found out it was Robbie Robertson - Music for Native Americans. When I got my first ever CD player, this was the first CD I bought.

Eventually as time goes on, music tastes change and CD's get moved to the back of the pile, and I haven't played it in years. But now of course the Dog has just gone and reminded me what a brilliant CD that is.
And - me being me, I have just had to go and get the one he has given us the track off of as I've never heard it. I find it hard to believe that this one can be as good as Music for Americans, but I'm willing to give it a fair crack. I will report back once it arrives.
