Hi Palace Eagle and welcome to musicforthemonth

Thanks for feedback on the music mix - glad you enjoyed. A new Music Mix will be available from Monday 1st March which I hope you will download and enjoy as well.

You are right, of course about A A Bondy and it's one of those albums that keeps getting better and better - I don't think I did it justice by simply including 2 tracks, you have to listen to the whole album - am I right?

Listening to the Felice Brothers now on MySpace - I can see why you like them and compare to Bondy. I can see a trip to my local Virgin coming up - which album do you recommend?

Hey Mr. happy nice words, not sure I had a musical orgasm or spanked a lamb but lets move on. Have you really met Elton John? Would love to know how and where and what you talked about, he's such a big star I cant imagine what I would say.

Note to Laughing Dog from Mr. Happy

Once again it’s that time of the month when we receive from your musical loins a plethora of melodious and harmonious fancies to excite, stimulate and enliven our dreary existence. This month is once again an eclectic and diverse mix of old and new songs that quite literally enables one to reach their own musical orgasm without the use of Viagra or other illegal stimulants.

As always you open with a bang and we have 3 genuine up-tempo tracks to start proceedings – not heard of Kings X before but they show promise while the Winwood track is excellent. Track 4 – Ian Drury and his Blockheads what an amazing song, probably one of the songs of that decade, you are correct in your attempt to bring his music to a new audience – must be one of the highlights of the mix.

We then stroll down an avenue of contemporary artists with track 5-9 that sounds fresh and pristine like a new-born lamb being spanked. Your selection of The Phantom Band as album of the Month is brave but demonstrates an innovative soul – one must listen to your pups more.

“Elton John that fat, gay, bald arsehole that makes bland, boring music for the coffee table”, Mr. Laughing Dog you made an old man squeal with delight on reading this – I’ve actually had the pleasure of meeting the man on several occasions and I know he would delight in this description of him. Please don’t judge him from his well-managed and marketed image, he is in fact one of most enchanting and amusing fellows one could ever meet – he is simply delicious. You are, of course correct with your review, his output during the 70’s was immense, and something that he acknowledges he will never be able to reproduce. Great track but I would have opted for “Tiny Dancer” or even “My Fathers Gun” from this era.

Two tracks from A A Bondy are excellent already purchased the album, which is, as you so rightly say is excellent.
Next is your 3-in-a-row from Robert Plant. I can take or leave this guy but enjoyed this small selection of his work particularly ‘’Sea of Love” which is followed by one of the other highlights of this mix, “The Sidewinder” an impressive and majestic slice of jazz that almost made even me groove – and I truly do dance like a can of beans. An immense song that must have given your father a deal of satisfaction to pass onto his son.

The rest of the mix continues to a high standard climaxing with The Drive By Truckers and “Goodbye”, you will hear no criticism from me, indeed track 19 “Misplaced” has all the qualities of a classic and I intend to purchase this album to explore more

Hi Sinny - Thanks for feedback, glad you like. I agree about Misplaced such a good song and one that almost went under the radar.

I don't like all jazz but last summer my Dad played some great jazz tracks for me - my future mixes will include some don't worry.

Lets see what everyone else thinks about it especially Mr Happy and Spacey.
