Holy carp Batman, where have the Derek Trucks Band been all my life? Me like. Mucho.
Hey Mr LD great list thanks for putting 2 of my suggestions in (but why no Gobshitte Twins
I reckon I’ll be buying a few of these over Xmas
Sin again – I think you’ll be looking for a second job to pay for all the albums you’ll want to buy when you hear the January mix
Hey Mr LD FYI bought both Scott Mathews CDs and Moby good good stuff
what will the next 10 years bring I wonder?????????????????
Well then, I just been doing a bit surfing, trying to catch up as it were, and I came across this site which may just arouse LZ’s interest:
http://stash.nugs.net/phil/0112kaiser_mp3.asp?artist=30&show=180&cmd=shows
Scroll down a little bit and you’ll find an entire Derek Truck live show for free download. I haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet and I don’t think the neighbours would appreciate it at this time of night, but I am sure it will be well worthwhile.
Let us know what you think.
An (admittedly, non-music) magazine I have before me, reads thusly:
“Amazon.com’s Top 10 Selling Artists of All Time (so far):
1) The Beatles
Dixie Chicks
2) U2
3) Norah Jones
4) Johnny Cash
5) Diana Krall
6) Bob Dylan
7) Frank Sinatra
9) Enya
10) Rod Stewart”
Don’t shoot me, I’m only the messenger !
Spacepig – thank you! I will indeed have a good listen (am currently musicless – headset was involved in a collision with chair + dog earlier and needs to some sticky tape and tlc)
UncleDaveRave – no bullets from me, it’s a great list (except for #2 and #4…!)
And what about No 10? (excluding The Small Faces & Python Lee Jackson).
And I have no complaints about No 4 but not quite so sure about 3 and 8.
Thanks Spacey – am d/loading now.
Looks a good site
No Jonas Brothers in the list – why? It is the American version of Amazon.
Thanks Davey the Ravey – one thing no comments on January’s music mix yet – have you downloaded it? do you like/dislike it. Let us know as your feedback is always welcome.
I’m six months late on this one, but couldn’t let it go!! It was a far too tempting thread
These are 10 of my top releases in the last decade – again too many to list all of them:
1) Truelove’s Gutter – Richard Hawley
Kasabian – Kasabian
2) Dancing Down The Stony Road – Chris Rea
3) The First Days Of Spring – Noah & The Whale
4) The Seldom Seen Kid – Elbow
5) Continuum – John Mayer
6) The Kinks Choral Collection – Ray Davies
7) Live At Madison Square Gardens – Stevie Winwood & Eric Clapton
9) Lungs – Florence & The Machine
10) The Trials Of Van Occupanther – Midlake
Why does eight get a smiley face?
Simply because Mr D likes it!
Have to admit, I prefer your choice of No 10 myself.
Ha ha – he likes the number 8 or Kasabian??
Hi Techy – thanks for your Top Ten albums, some good stuff here. The only two I don’t have are Kasabian and Richard Hawley – think I will buy these 2 albums at the weekend. I’ve not been too impressed with either but they must have something special if they have made your top ten and have made me want to investigate further – isn’t music a wonderful thing?
Techy and Spacey – what are you 2 on about? My favourite number is green.
Richard Hawley is a treat….. Kasabian more of an aquired taste, but a great album to drive to and clever mix of electronic and indie music.
