I have a problem – my wife keeps nagging me as I’m playing this album constantly and I mean constantly – in the car, at home, in bed. This is quite rare these days, but it’s so good.
This album is really good – great songs, superb playing, great voice – it reminds me of the classic albums of the past with no fillers, no hype – a really complete album that offers fresh things each time I listen to it. Aynsley is the ONLY British artist to be featured in Classic Rocks TOP 10 CONTEMPORARY BLUES ARTISTS……….alongside The White Stripes, John Mayer and John Spencer – this album shows why.
I’m not a massive blues guitar fan but this ain’t really a blues guitar album – its more a good solid rock album with a guy who plays the guitar like a dream adding melody and space to enhance each song. His band feels like a band too – nice and tight – adding again to the feel of the album, and I think its the feel of the album that I like so much and keeps me playing it – it has the groove – nice one Aynsley.
Stand out tracks include Soul, Hurricane, Time’s Up, Early Morning Dew and a great version of Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy
Watch this space – you’ll be able to hear Soul on next month’s Music Mix available from Sept 1st.
