Bell X1 – Blue Lights on the Runway

bell x1 blue lights album cover

I love Flock – after being introduced to Bell X1 by my old friend Dr. Chris, I quickly realized what a special band they are and what a special album Flock is. With their new album they continue in a similar vein to Flock, albeit I feel, a little more downbeat and soulful. All that’s good about music is present here and the current crop of “next best rock band” must surely listen and weep.

This album should be huge, sadly it only reached number 1 in Ireland and number 49 on the American Independent Billboard chart also the first single from the album “The Great Defector” released on the 3rd February 2009 in the UK and the US did again reach number 1 in Ireland but no record of any chart entry in the UK – what’s wrong with the music-buying public of the UK? This is a great album with great songs especially Amelia, a Better Band and Ribs of a Broken Umbrella – good, good music.

This album has already cemented itself in my music heart next to Flock – nice one guys you have a winner here.
